As Green energy becomes more popular the governments of cities, states, and the country are going are coming up with more rules and regulations for if and what kind of windmill electricity you can put up on your property.

As annoying as being told what you can and can’t do on your land is, it is still going to save you a lot of money and aggravation if you research what is allowed in your area and comply with it. Unfortunately these rules are likely to change depending on how pro windmill electricity your community is and how far from other residents your wind turbine is.

Once you have studied and then gone to the expense of putting up a wind turbine then you will have to become a real advocate for windmill electricity to make sure you can keep it.

Buying a windmill for windmill electricity can be down right expensive. There are great books out that will teach you how to build your own for less, but many people would rather buy one ready to go. Shopping around I have found small wind turbines for $600 on up to the bigger ones for $10,000. That is a lot to pay for windmill electricity.

What Does this have to do With Main?

Right now if you live in Main and install “small wind” to your home or business you could get a nice rebate, $2,000 for home and $4,000 for business. Just make sure you find out the guidelines to make sure you qualify.
